| Industrial Rectangular C 146 Connectors | Amphenol-Tuchel offers six basic series in the C146 family of industrial connectors for diverse applications ranging from industrial equipment and machine tools to the trans- portation field. Industrial connectors are very often the interface between a cabinet and a machine or they connect work stations and components of a different nature. Because of the many application possibilities, the industry agreed on a standard (DIN 43652). The standard does however leave variation possibilities for contract inserts and housings.

C 146 D Series Offering high contact density, the style C146 D is the DIN 43652 connector of Amphenol. It uses crimp termination in its inserts for 7, 15, 25, 40, and 64 contacts and is therefore vibration proof. Crimp contacts with a pin diameter of 1.6mm for a rated current of 10A are used. The low-cost crimp contact is well suited to high volume production since it can be crimped economically on crimping machines for contacts on strip.
C 146 E Series The C146 E Series which is close to the DIN 43652 standard offers 2.5mm contacts for 16A with crimp or screw termination. The screw version is offered for applications in countries where the crimp technology is not yet established, and for applications requiring no vibration tolerance. The crimp version is used in critical applications and where a vibration process is needed.
C 146 HvE Series For general high voltage applications and in special high voltage nets up to 500 V, the C146 HvE series with 2.5mm screw contacts (3, 6, 10, 16, 20, 26, and 32-way for 16A) comes into use.
C 146 A Series If a low profile version is needed then the C146 A series can be used. It is a narrow version of the DIN connector with screw connection and therefore with lower contact density (3, 4, 10, 16, and 32 contacts with 2.5mm dia. for 10/16A). This is used for currents up to 70A with 4, 7, or 57 contacts with either screw, crimp or solder termination (e.g. for robot controls).
C 146 M Series Finally, the newest C146 M series intended for the increasing complexity in industrial connections, which are getting ever closer to the limits in capacity and cost. This series features a modular design based on the C146 series family. It is offered as eight different modules for turned as well a stamped contacts. In addition, the series accommodates: Mixed signal and power lines inverted contacts (male .......and female contacts on one connector side) Modules with pre-leading contacts Modules with coax contacts (DIN 41616) Modules with FO contacts (DIN 41612) Incorrect contact positioning impossible Improved repair and service possibilities Possibility of advanced assembly New modules are added to the line on a regular basis. The user for the C146 M series first selects the basic frame and can then choose the individual modules depending on the requirements on voltage (up to 1000V), current (up to 40A), number of contacts and termination technology. The outside dimensions of the frames and their mounting are matched to fit into the various die-cast housings of the C146 family.
