The River Community Church - Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong" Music Video

The River Community Church is an art-oriented, non-denominational, Bible-based church in Hartland, Michigan. The video was designed for the church's band to play the song in sync to the video. The original soundtrack is used here for display-sake only.

This music video was created in whole--concept, pre-production, production and post-production--by John Gnotek for a weekend service to illustrate that no matter who you are or what you've done in the past, you are welcome at The River.

The story shows a young man tormented by a past event, lost and aimless, empty and alone. The back story is he and his girl friend had been in a car getting high--she died in a crash. The turning point shows the young man tossing his drugs and looking for a place to belong finally finding it at The River.

The shooting was done in downtown Pontiac, Michigan and Kirk In The Hills Presbyterian Cathedral in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, with clips of various churches in Oakland County, Michigan.
